DWALLNET TECHNOLOGIES — 6TH ANNIVERSARY LECTURE : THE POWER OF STARTING, THE COURAGE TO CONTINUE, AND THE VISION TO BECOME

Distinguished guests, respected partners, members of staff, students, alumni, friends of Dwallnet Technologies, ladies and gentlemen,
Good day to you all.
Today is not just another day on the calendar.
Today is a testimony.
Today is a reminder.
Today is proof that an idea can survive, grow, impact lives and become a movement when someone refuses to give up on it.
Six years ago, Dwallnet Technologies was not what you see today.
There were no six years of experience behind the name.
There were no six years of memories.
There were no six years of students, graduates, staff, achievements and stories.
There was simply an idea.
And perhaps that is where every great thing begins.
Not with perfection.
Not with millions of naira.
Not with a huge building.
Not with everybody believing in you.
But with one person looking at a problem and saying:
“Something must be done.”
1. EVERY GREAT JOURNEY STARTS SMALL
Sometimes we look at successful organizations and think they started big.
We see the building.
We see the logo.
We see the students.
We see the achievements.
We see the recognition.
But we don’t always see the nights of uncertainty.
We don’t see the sacrifices.
We don’t see the mistakes.
We don’t see the moments when giving up looked easier than continuing.
Dwallnet’s six-year journey teaches us something very important:
Never despise your beginning.
Your beginning may be small.
Your resources may be limited.
Your network may be small.
Your knowledge may not be complete.
But if your vision is bigger than your circumstances, you can start building.
And that brings me to the first message I want everyone here to take home:
START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.
Don’t wait until everything is perfect.
If you have an idea, start.
If you have a skill, develop it.
If you have knowledge, share it.
If you see a problem, look for a solution.
If you have a dream, take the first step.
Because sometimes the greatest enemy of success is not failure.
It is waiting for the perfect moment.
2. THE WORLD DOES NOT REWARD POTENTIAL — IT REWARDS VALUE
Ladies and gentlemen,
We live in an extraordinary time.
Technology is changing the world at a speed previous generations could hardly imagine.
Artificial Intelligence is transforming businesses.
Automation is changing jobs.
Digital platforms are creating new industries.
A young person with a laptop and an internet connection can reach people thousands of kilometres away.
But there is a question we must ask ourselves:
What value are we bringing to the world?
Having a smartphone is not the same thing as having a digital skill.
Having internet access is not the same thing as having an opportunity.
Knowing how to use social media is not the same thing as knowing how to build something valuable.
The future will belong to people who can solve problems.
Learn.
Create.
Innovate.
Communicate.
Collaborate.
Adapt.
And most importantly—
create value.
That is why institutions like Dwallnet matter.
Because education should not simply put information into your head.
Education should put possibility into your hands.
3. TO THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN THIS ROOM
I want to speak directly to you.
You are not too young to make an impact.
You are not too young to learn.
You are not too young to build something.
You are not too young to become excellent.
But please understand something:
The world does not owe you success.
You must prepare yourself for it.
Don’t spend all your time consuming what other people create.
Learn to create.
Don’t spend all your time watching successful people.
Study what made them successful.
Don’t spend your entire youth chasing popularity.
Build competence.
Don’t ask only:
“How can I make money?”
Ask:
“What problem can I solve?”
Because when you become valuable, opportunities begin to look for you.
4. TO THE ADULTS IN THIS ROOM
Technology is not the enemy of your generation.
Change is not the enemy.
Artificial Intelligence is not your enemy.
The real enemy is refusing to learn.
You may not understand every new technology today.
That’s okay.
You don’t need to know everything.
But you must be willing to learn.
The world is changing.
Businesses are changing.
Communication is changing.
Education is changing.
Work is changing.
Therefore, we must change too.
Never say:
“I am too old to learn technology.”
Instead say:
“I am experienced enough to understand why I need to learn it.”
Your experience is valuable.
Combine that experience with technology and you can become even more powerful.
5. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: THREAT OR OPPORTUNITY?
Let me ask everyone a question.
Who here has heard about Artificial Intelligence?
AI is no longer a story from science fiction.
It is already here.
But I don’t believe the biggest question is:
“Will AI take people’s jobs?”
The bigger question is:
“Will people who know how to use AI replace people who refuse to learn it?”
That is the question we should be asking.
AI can help a business owner write better content.
It can help analyze information.
It can help generate ideas.
It can help programmers develop software.
It can help students understand difficult concepts.
It can help organizations improve productivity.
But remember:
AI is a tool.
Human beings still need vision.
Human beings still need wisdom.
Human beings still need integrity.
Human beings still need creativity.
Human beings still need courage.
So don’t be afraid of technology.
Learn it.
Understand it.
Use it responsibly.
And turn it into an advantage.
6. THE MOST IMPORTANT TECHNOLOGY IS STILL THE HUMAN MIND
We can talk about computers.
We can talk about Artificial Intelligence.
We can talk about smartphones.
We can talk about software.
But there is one technology that remains incredibly powerful:
THE HUMAN MIND.
A computer can process information.
But a human being can imagine something that does not yet exist.
A machine can execute instructions.
But a human being can create the instructions.
Technology can accelerate an idea.
But somebody must first have the idea.
Therefore, never underestimate yourself.
You may be sitting here today thinking:
“I am nobody.”
No.
You are somebody carrying something that the world may need.
Maybe you haven’t discovered it yet.
Maybe you haven’t developed it yet.
Maybe you haven’t had the opportunity yet.
But don’t bury your potential because your current circumstances don’t look impressive.
7. FAILURE IS NOT THE OPPOSITE OF SUCCESS
One of the biggest lies we tell ourselves is that successful people never fail.
They do.
They simply learn from failure differently.
Failure can teach you.
Failure can redirect you.
Failure can expose weaknesses.
Failure can make you better.
So when you make a mistake, don’t ask only:
“Why did I fail?”
Ask:
“What is this failure trying to teach me?”
The person who never tries may never fail.
But they may also never discover what they are capable of achieving.
8. SIX YEARS IS A MILESTONE — NOT THE DESTINATION
Today, Dwallnet celebrates six years.
But I want us to understand something.
Six years is not the finish line.
It is a checkpoint.
A reminder of where we came from.
A celebration of what has been achieved.
And a declaration of what is still possible.
The next six years must be greater.
Greater innovation.
Greater training.
Greater impact.
Greater opportunities.
Greater technology.
Greater community development.
Greater transformation.
And perhaps one day, someone will stand in a room like this and say:
“I became who I am because Dwallnet gave me an opportunity.”
That is the kind of legacy that matters.
Not just buildings.
Not just certificates.
Not just technology.
People.
9. WHAT WILL YOUR LEGACY BE?
I want everyone here to think about one question.
Not tomorrow.
Not next year.
Right now.
When your name is mentioned years from today, what will people remember about you?
Will they remember that you complained?
That you were afraid?
That you waited?
That you blamed everybody else?
Or will they remember that you built?
That you taught?
That you served?
That you created?
That you helped someone?
That you changed something?
That you gave somebody an opportunity?
Because at the end of our lives, our greatest achievement may not be how much we accumulated.
It may be:
How many lives became better because we existed.
10. A MESSAGE TO EVERY DWALLNET STUDENT AND ALUMNI
If Dwallnet has taught you anything, don’t let the knowledge remain inside the classroom.
Take it outside.
Build something.
Create something.
Teach somebody.
Start a business.
Help an organization.
Solve a problem.
Become an example.
Your certificate should not be the end of your journey.
It should be evidence that your journey has begun.
11. TO THE STAFF
To every member of staff who has contributed to this journey:
Thank you.
Sometimes people see an organization.
But they don’t see the people behind it.
Every lesson taught.
Every student attended to.
Every challenge solved.
Every late effort.
Every idea contributed.
Every sacrifice made—
has become part of the Dwallnet story.
And today, we celebrate you too.
12. TO THE FOUNDERS AND LEADERS
Leadership is not simply about starting something.
Leadership is about continuing when the excitement of starting has disappeared.
It is about making difficult decisions.
It is about accepting responsibility.
It is about seeing tomorrow while everyone else is focused on today.
Six years of existence is therefore not just a celebration of time.
It is a celebration of persistence.
13. THE DWALLNET CALL
So today, as we celebrate six years, I want us to make a commitment.
Let us become people who learn.

People who innovate.
People who help.
People who refuse to surrender their potential.
People who understand that technology is not just entertainment.

Education is not just a certificate.

Business is not just about making money.
Business is about solving problems.

14. FINAL MESSAGE — THE NEXT SIX YEARS
Ladies and gentlemen,
Six years ago, someone had a vision.
Today, we are sitting inside the evidence of that vision.
But imagine what can happen if everyone in this room takes their own vision seriously.
Imagine the businesses that can be created.
Imagine the students that can be transformed.
Imagine the families that can be empowered.
Imagine the innovations that can emerge.
Imagine the young people who can discover their purpose.
Imagine the communities that can be changed.
Imagine the future.
And now remember this:
Every great future begins as an idea in someone’s mind.
Perhaps that someone is sitting here today.
Perhaps that someone is YOU.
So don’t wait for permission to become great.
Don’t wait until you have everything.
Don’t wait until everybody believes in you.
Start.
Learn.
Build.
Fail.
Learn again.
Improve.
Keep moving.
And never forget where you started.
Because one day, people may look at what you built and call it success.
But you will remember that it started with something very small:
A decision.
A decision to believe.
A decision to start.
A decision to continue.
A decision not to give up.
CONCLUSION
Today, we celebrate six years of Dwallnet Technologies.
But tomorrow, we begin building the next six.
May the next chapter be greater than the last.
